Some of our frequently asked questions regarding our linen.
What is a comforter?
Our comforters are a light ot medium weight quilted blanket which is completely sewn together and has a polyester fill. They have a cot couture label on both sides and can be reversed. The quilting is done simply in a rectangular patten.
How do I use the comforter?
The way I used my comforter was to place it on top of the cot mattress (like a bottom sheet), putting it right to the top, and tucking it in at all the sides. I put my baby on top in a sleeping bag or swaddle. Once my baby was big enough (around 12 months) I then used it like a normal blanket on top of them. The good thing about having a comforter underneath baby is that it is nice and soft, and then you don't have to make the bed up when you take them out after their sleep! Our comforters aren't heavy so they are great for all seasons.
Comforters are great to use as your child gets older too. They can be used for day time naps, travel rugs, in the pram and on the floor. As they are a generous size you will find that they can even be used on a single bed as a throw at the end or on top. As they are made from high quality pre-washed fabrics and hand-made with precision and care your comforter will be useful for many years to come.
You are advised not to use pillows and cushions in a cot - are they safe?
Pillows and cushions are NOT safe in a cot. However, we use pillows and cushions entirely for decor purposes and you need to take all pillows, cushions and soft toys out of a cot while your child is sleeping.
What are your fabrics made of?
Our fabrics are sourced from local and overseas suppliers. They are all 100% cotton, quilting weight fabrics that are all pre-washed before use for bedding.
What is inside the comforter?
Inside our comforters is a soft polyester wadding that is made in Melbourne.
Will your cot quilt cover fit my cot quilt insert?
If your cot quilt insert is 100 x 120cm - yes it will. However there are various sizes of cot quilt inserts on the market, and if you require a different size please use our special order form and we can get back to you.
Do you make King Single Quilt Covers?
We can make king single quilt covers. Please contact us via the contact page to get a quote.
Do you make and queen and King bed quilts?
No, at this time we do not.
Do you make sheet sets?
At the moment we don't. We are looking to do so in the future, but as our fabrics as quilting weight they aren't really suitable for sheeting. We do sell sheet sets from other brands available in the sheet sets section.
How do I wash my comforter?
You can wash your comforter in the washing machine on a gentle cycle. We don't recommend using the dryer.

Where can I find the cot and single bed you have used for your photos?
The cot is available via our friends at Touchwood cots. It is the Trends cot which has the different colour base. Made of solid NZ pine. A beautiful cot.
